UNITY DAY - RALLY AGAINST BULLYING Information:

Too many of our children are reporting they are bullied – verbally, physically and on-line. It has to stop. How do we do that as a society?

In cooperation with PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center, and with partners throughout the Gainesville community, the River Phoenix Center will coordinate an event on Unity Day, Wednesday October 10, 2012, UNITE AGAINST BULLLYING: Empowering Youth to Build a Safe Community.

The Community Walk and Rally Wednesday October 10th will start at 4pm at the corner of University and 13th Street. Wear, carry and wave orange as we unite to empower youth building a safer Gainesville. We will walk to the Bo Diddley Downtown Plaza where youth and others will speak to the efforts in our community to make bullying history.

Make it Orange. Make it End.

PACER.ORG/BULLYING posts: “Show your true colors! Unite together and support students being bullied everywhere. Show them that they are not alone – that someone cares by wearing orange on October 10th. Together we can lead the movement against bullying.”

Schools throughout Alachua County are encouraged to participate in Unity Day and RPCP will provide information, speakers, flyers and more.
