Mansuk Milton - on South Sedan and RPCP

Hi, everyone. My name is Mansuk Milton, I’m a South Sudanese refugee. Currently living in Uganda because of the civil war in South Sudan that has been, you know, going for long while now and which I suspect affected many, many, many South Sudan, including myself. We don't we don't like each other. But if you are not aware of this, we have over 64 tribes and, you know, we fight each other, we do not like each other and there is no unity.

And because of that, we have a lot of conflicts back home. And and I'm excited that I got an opportunity to come to this state on a community solution program sponsored by the State Department. My focus really, you know, was conflict resolution and peacebuilding because that I strongly believe that's what South Sudan is signing for. Every refugee that I know, including myself, who needs peace right now.

So I'm excited to also be place with River Phoenix Center for Peace, because, you know, they’ve done a lot of work and have wealth of experience in community peacebuilding. And my hope, you know, after learning these approaches here in the States, I'll be able to go back to, you know, back home and work with young people because I believe the better South Sudan that we need to seize the in the hands of young people.

So I hope to, you know, to pour into the young people what I've learned here in the states, you know, hoping that through our work we will be able to see a peaceful, united transformed South Sudan. Thank you so much.
